Immigration Reform Rally in D.C.

The Orlando Sentinel reported this past weekend that the immigration reform rally organized by leaders of Reform Immigration for America, held at the National Mall in Washington, D.C. yesterday called on lawmakers to pass immigration reform this year.
Marchers and their supporters at the rally commented that because a vote on health care reform was recently made, immigration reform should now be next.

Immigration Reform Needs a Bigger Push

The Los Angeles Times reported today that Congressman Luis Gutierrez criticized President Obama and his administration for not doing more to seek legislation that would legalize the approximately 12 million undocumented immigrants in the U.S.  Despite his criticism, he also mentioned that he lacks the necessary votes in the U.S. House of Representatives to actually pass the bill that he sponsored.
