The U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) reported that they have accepted about 13,600 H-1B visa applications for Fiscal Year (FY) 2011 in the 25 days that the application period has been open.
In our last post on April 9, 2010, we reported that the USCIS has accepted about 13,500 applications. It seems that the number of applications are tapering off significantly (there have been only 100 applications in the last 17 days).
We anticipate that the USCIS will accept applications for the remainder of the year until the quota of 65,000 applications is reached without the need for the H-1B lottery system.
Last year the quota was reached on December 18, 2009 for FY 2010 applications.
