The Orlando Sentinel reported today that after 14 months of struggling with lawmakers to pass legislation to reform our nation’s health care laws, he will sign the legislation into law tonight. White house insiders have said that the President won’t spend very much time celebrating because other issues that have been postponed because of the health care reform efforts, are now ready to be dealt with.
The President and his administration will now push for reform of financial regulations, reform of political campaign spending, immigration and energy reform.
Congressional insiders have said that immigration reform is in the midst, but chances are, that Republican support for it is dwindling due to the tooth and nail fight they just lost to the Democrats in the health care fight.
At this point, we must all wait and see how the fight for immigration reform and the other issues the President has started tackling will work themselves out, and hope that our nation’s immigration laws will be overhauled once and for all.
