Haitians Can Now Apply for TPS
The Orlando Sentinel reported that the U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) will begin accepting applications for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) applications today for Haitian nationals due to the earthquake that ravaged that country last week.
USCIS officials estimate that about 200,000 Haitian TPS applications will be received during the six (6) month registration period that was authorized by the government.
The USCIS has designated three (3) lockboxes where applicants can mail their applications. A lockbox is designated for Haitian nationals who live in the State of Florida, another for applicants that live in New York, and the third for applicants living in other states.
We at Pappas & Associates, P.A. call on all eligible Haitians to come forward and apply for Temporary Protected Status.
