Happy Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving Day is in essence a harvest festival observed primarily in Canada and the United States. It is a time to give thanks for the harvest and giving thanks for what is most important to people in general. While possibly religious in origin, Thanksgiving Day is observed as secular and public holiday.
Thanksgiving dinner consists mainly of turkey or roast ham with various side dishes, pumpkin or apple pie. It is also a time where family members and friends come together to give thanks.
The first Thanksgiving occurred at the site of Plymouth Plantation in 1621. That celebration occurred early in the history of what would become one of the original thirteen colonies that later became the United States.
Thanksgiving is celebrated on the second Monday of October in Canada and on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States.
