The Orlando Sentinel reported yesterday that hundreds of immigration activists rallied on Saturday at a Family Unity forum calling for comprehensive immigration reform (CIR):
They were pastors from dozens of churches of various denominations, activists and local politicians, and a largely Hispanic crowd that easily overshadowed the sole anti-amnesty protester reported to have been escorted off the property.
It was standing-room only inside Pabellón de la Victoria, a Hispanic evangelical church that seats about 1,500 people, as participants listened to U.S. citizens separated from their loved ones.
Relatives fought tears to tell of how their spouses and children were taken by immigration-enforcement agents, who have been cracking down on illegal immigration the past few years.
Participants that were also U.S. citizens spoke about how their spouses and children have been apprehended by U.S. immigration enforcement agents that who have been cracking down on illegal immigration the past few years.
Immigration reform is regaining momentum as a hot button issue.
Supporters of immigration reform are waiting to see if CIR will be mentioned in President Obama’s upcoming First 100 days speech at the end of April.
